We are here for you and can offer genetic counseling services via telehealth for a variety of reasons including pediatrics, psychiatric/mental health, preconception, and cancer. Genetic counseling services provide information and support for individuals and families dealing with genetic conditions or who may be at risk. Here’s an overview of what these services include:
1. Assessing Risk:
- Family History: Collecting and analyzing family health history to spot patterns that suggest a genetic condition.
- Medical History: Reviewing the individual’s health history for signs of genetic issues.
- Genetic Testing: Offering tests to diagnose or predict genetic conditions when appropriate and available.
2. Providing Information:
- Condition Details: Explaining specific genetic conditions, their symptoms, inheritance, and possible treatment options.
- Genetic Basics: Teaching basic genetic concepts to help understand how genetics impact health.
- Testing Choices: Discussing available genetic tests and what they can reveal.
3. Support and Guidance:
- Emotional Support: Helping clients cope with the emotional impact of genetic conditions.
- Decision-Making Help: Assisting clients in making informed decisions about testing, treatment, and family planning.
- Resources: Connecting clients with support groups and resources when available.
Genetic counselors work to ensure clients understand their genetic health and feel supported in making decisions about their care. Most of our appointments are 45-60 minutes click below if you’d like to schedule with us!
We offer self-pay services at a flat rate. You will NOT be charged until after the appointment:
- $144.00 (plus a processing fees): This applies to all traditional indications (connective tissue disorders, prenatal, cancer, pediatrics…) and includes the initial consultation as well as one results session, if needed. Any genetic testing that is ordered will be processed through your insurance.
OR - $179.00 (plus processing fees): Applies ONLY if you want us to review your direct-to-consumer (DTC) genetic testing results (e.g., 23andMe raw data). Because these results require additional time to review, we ask that you send your data two weeks in advance. Any genetic testing that is ordered will be processed through your insurance.
